Acclaimed director Francis Ford Coppola has a passion for cinema, and unknown to some, wines as well. In 1975, Coppola and his wife, Eleanor purchased the Inglenook vineyard in Napa Valley and spent 40 years reviving the brand by returning wine-making operations to the chateau and restoring its legacy of producing world-class spirits.
Last year, the Coppolas released Inglenook’s flagship wine, the Rubicon. The premium label is made from the estate’s best fruits including the original owner Gustave Niebaum’s cabernet sauvignon selection which was first planted on the estate in the 1880s.
Inglenook’s principals recently visited the country and witnessed Manila’s enthusiastic response to the brand. With Philippine Wine Merchants bringing in Inglenook, get a few bottles raise your glasses to the Coppolas for a job well done. Salut!
