Hunt for the Hare at Safari West, Santa Rosa

Who says the holiday is just for kids? Adults will enjoy the Hunt for the Hare as much as children, and all ages 4 and above are welcome. The six-foot tall Mr. Hare is tucked away somewhere on this expansive wildlife park, and he is an egg-straordinarily good hider! Why has he disappeared from Safari West’s Savannah Café, where his honey-bunny, Mrs. Hare, is preparing Easter brunch? Because he’s run off in pursuit of his old rival, Mr. Tortoise. But he loves his snacks, so as guests leave Carrot Clues to lead Mr. Hare back home, he’s sure to follow. Search teams can board either the African Queen (a 25-foot trailer) or the Nairobi (a bus) to search for the elusive rabbit, with a 10 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. start time. Both adventures include brunch, an egg hunt (including some pretty huge eggs from resident ostrich), face painting and the Hunt for the Hare Tour.
Tickets are $75 for adults; $40 for children ages 4 to 12. A brunch-only option is $42 for adults; $18 for children ages 4 to 12.
3115 Porter Creek Rd., Santa Rosa, 707-579-2551. Details.
