Castello di Amorosa – magnificent medieval castle in Napa Valley:

A magnificent castle – Castello di Amorosa is located near Calistoga. castle was open for public in April 2007. The owner Dario Sattui, who also owns V. Sattui Winery named after his great-grandfather.

Interiors include 107 rooms (and no two rooms are alike) on 8 levels above and below ground.  The Grand Barrel Room consists cross-vaulted ceiling made of ancient bricks. The great hall, frescoes painting, completed in a year and half by Italian artists and miss the 500-year-old fireplace showcase.

It takes less than 10 minutes’ drive east of downtown Calistoga to reach at castle.  Castello di Amorosa Winery is a must visit winery in the Napa Valley for every wine lover and who loves to travel and explore. Do take advantage of the Napa Valley Wine Train and book your place in the pretty Pullman car to enjoy gourmet on-board meal combined with a wine-tasting tour of the castle.

Admission fee includes a complimentary tasting of five wines in underground tasting rooms. The Royal Apartment features include carved fireplace and hand-forged chandeliers where you can enjoy food and wine tasting.

Due to Glass Fire September 2020, the castle remains unharmed but the farmhouse suffered major damage.

Castle is closed for Tours & Tastings until January 17th due to county and state regulations but luckily it is open for wine pick-up & retail sales only. We strongly advise please confirm your tour before visiting. For latest updates please click the link below.
